Kieran Forsyth is the craftsman behind Clansman Saddlery, based near Reading, Berkshire. With a lifelong passion for horses and traditional leatherwork, Kieran is dedicated to ensuring every saddle he fits offers the best possible comfort and performance for both horse and rider.
Kieran spent 25 years in the British Army, serving first with the Band of the Irish Guards and later as a mounted musician with the Blues and Royals, Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, where he began learning the art of saddlery. After leaving the regular army in 2013, he honed his skills in the Highlands of Scotland before founding Clansman Saddlery, where he continues to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern saddle fitting expertise.
Alongside his civilian work, Kieran has served as Master Saddler for the Scottish and Northern Irish Yeomanry, maintaining strong ties to the military tradition that shaped his career. He received a scholarship from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) to further his already excellent skills in collar and harness making — a rare and highly respected achievement.
Known for his precision, professionalism, and genuine care for horse welfare, Kieran takes pride in every detail of his work, upholding the standards and heritage of true British saddlery.
